Fillers Vs. Botox: Which Is Right for You?

If you want to keep your skin looking fresh, young, smooth, and lifted, you’re lucky that your options have evolved. You don’t have to rely on ineffectual topical treatments anymore. Today’s injectable neuromodulators and dermal fillers improve the look and feel of your skin from the inside out.

At Modern Wellness Clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada, our aesthetic experts prefer injectable facial rejuvenation treatments from the Swiss-based international medical company Galderma, makers of Dysport®, Restylane®, and Sculptra®.Not sure which injectable treatment is right for you? We assembled an easy-to-follow guide.

Relax and smooth fine lines and wrinkles

One of the first injectable therapies on most women’s and men’s must-have list is Botox®. Botox is a neuromodulator that’s made of a type of purified botulinum toxin. Neuromodulators temporarily block the nerve signals that muscles receive from the brain, which tell them to contract. The silence allows the muscle to stay flat and relaxed, so your skin does, too.

Dysport works in ways similar to the better-known Botox, but Dysport has a few advantages. First, Dysport relaxes overly active muscles more quickly: Your face is smoother just a day later, while Botox may take up to two weeks to fully work.

You use Dysport to create the same smoothing, relaxing effects on your face, such as:

You also need less Dysport than Botox, which could save you money in the long run. Dysport has a wider spread than Botox, so that you need fewer injections to achieve the same degree of rejuvenation.

Fill in wrinkles, creases, and sagging

If you have wrinkles or creases on your mid to lower face, neuromodulators can’t address them, but dermal fillers do. The Restylane family of fillers is made of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance your body produces to keep your skin plump and moisturized, though your own natural stores deplete over time.

Our experts choose the right formulation of Restylane based on the thickness needed to create the desired effect. Some improvements you can make with Restylane include:

We also use a collagen-stimulating type of dermal filler called Sculptra to improve your face and even your buttocks (we create a nonsurgical Brazilian butt lift). A full 100% of patients who receive Restylane notice the improvements after their treatment, and 97% are satisfied.

Smooth, lift, and restore

The most effective way to turn back years or decades on your face is to ask us to custom-design a liquid facelift for you. By combining various consistencies of dermal fillers with Dysport, we erase the signs of age and help your skin look and feel thicker and more youthful.

A liquid facelift doesn’t require a single stitch or incision. While you may feel a pinch when we inject your therapy, we pre-numb your face so that you stay comfortable. Some of the dermal fillers also contain a type of anesthetic as part of their formulation. There’s no real downtime, either. You return to your regular activities right after your “facelift.”

When used together, Dysport, Restylane, and Sculptra make tremendous improvements in the way you look and the way you feel about yourself. Your face and neck are:

We also preschedule your touchup appointments so that your rejuvenation always looks fresh. Dysport lasts about five months (i.e., longer than Botox). Restylane and Sculptra last up to 18 months, depending on the formulation you need.

Contact our office today to set up a Dysport and fillers consultation. Feel free to bring in photos of yourself at a younger age, or other photographic examples of the kinds of improvements you’d like to make. We take it from there.
