Premature Ejaculation

The most common description of Premature Ejaculation (PE) is ejaculation that occurs before both partners would like in a majority of sexual encounters. This will then lead to worry, stress, or concern. For some men, premature ejaculation may materialize in all manner of sexual encounters, including masturbation. In other men, PE surfaces only during sexual encounters with a partner.

While no medical standard exists for how long a man should take to ejaculate, some commonly observed symptoms of premature ejaculation include:

  • The inability of a man to control his ejaculation.
  • Ejaculating before he is ready to or has satisfied his partner.
  • Ejaculating before penetration, upon penetration, or shortly thereafter.

How is PE Treated?

At Modern Wellness Clinic, the treatment of PE involves a stepwise approach. The underlying cause of Premature Ejaculation must be properly diagnosed before a specific treatment program can be recommended.

Prostate Problems

At Modern Wellness Clinic, our expert licensed Physicians can help all erection issues caused by total or partial prostate removal, benign prostate treatment, or other prostate problems.

If your prostate will be removed to stop cancer, your doctor may be able to use a technique that leaves the nerves around the prostate in place. This procedure will make it more likely for you to recover bladder control and sexual function. Not all men can have this technique.

If you are one of these men who cannot get an erection due to complication from prostate removal Modern Wellness Clinic may have a solution to your problem.

FAQ: Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Why should I see a physician at Modern Wellness Clinic instead of seeing my own physician or urologist for a sexual performance problem?

At Modern Wellness Clinic we focus exclusively on treating the inability to achieve erection, to maintain an erection, low testosterone, and premature ejaculation. General physicians or even urologists are ideal for other problems, but they may only see patients who experience your concern a few times a month. At Modern Wellness Clinic we treat men just like you several thousand times per year. Our experience makes a difference in your successful treatment.

I have tried Viagra®, Levitra®, Cialis® but they didn’t work for me. Also, I’ve tried herbal capsules advertised on TV, which don’t work either.

What can Modern Wellness Clinic offer me that may work for my problem?

Modern Wellness Clinic offer FDA approved compound medications specifically designed to work when Viagra®, Levitra®, Cialis® do not. These are safe and clinically proven to be successful for problems exactly like yours. Herbal formulas are neither effective nor safe, and the unregulated chemicals and herbs within them may be harmful to you and should certainly be avoided. The FDA has not approved them as medication and recognizes them only as dietary supplements.

What types of medications are available for my treatment?

Our expert licensed Physicians utilize only painless and safe medical options to effectively treat your problem so you obtain an erection with only one visit. Until the Men’s Specialist Technician examines you there is no way to determine which type of medical treatment will be the most effective. After completion of the examination and testing he will establish the best treatment option to immediately generate a sustained erection.

How long will the office visit last and what will happen?

Upon your arrival, a member of our all male staff will escort you to a private examination room to see a Mens Specialist Technician. He will perform a few tests, review your medical history and ask about any medications you are presently taking. He will review those results and discuss with you the best treatment option to help you get and maintain an erection. A test dose of medication will be offered. The process if safe and painless with zero side effects. After several minutes he will return to the room to be sure you are happy with the results. He will then discuss with you the duration you would like to maintain your erection every time you have sex. Your total visit will last between 1 ½ to 2 hours to assure your test dose worked properly. The exam, tests and initial dose of medication are included in the cost of your first visit. Many insurance companies reimburse for our services. Before you leave the clinic we will present the appropriate paperwork and diagnosis codes required by insurance. You can then chose to submit this to your provider.

What’s the cost of the medications?

The medication cost will be determined by the medication prescribed and the frequency you chose to use it. Once the Men’s Specialist Technician has completed the testing and has the diagnostic results, he will discuss an effective treatment and formulate a prescription that will support your expectations.

Why haven’t I heard of these medications?

Millions of dollars are spent by the pharmaceutical companies to advertise brands such as Levitra®, Viagra® or Cialis.® Those products are sold as a one-pill-fits-all solution. Often these medications do not work and have various unpleasant side effects. Each prescription issued by Modern Wellness Clinic is a compounded medication developed specifically for you.

Is my insurance going to cover this treatment?

Many insurance companies reimburse for our services. Before you leave the clinic we will present the appropriate paperwork and diagnosis codes required by insurance. You can then choose to submit this to your provider.

How long is the prescription good?

You can reorder medications using the prescription for up to a year. Occasionally the prescription may need to be adjusted during the year if your physical condition changes. If this is necessary our physician will adjust the prescription for up to one year with no additional cost to you.

How can I immediately get started to end my problem forever?

Our male telephone counselors are here to help you. Just call 702.475.4920 to set an appointment at your convenience, often the very same day! Modern Wellness Clinic wants you to know that hundreds of times every month, we hear the same thing from our patients. “I only wish I had made that call earlier.” Make the call, have better sex.

Is this a common problem?

A very large number of men experience the occasional failure to achieve an erection, which can occur for a whole host of reasons, such as from drinking too much alcohol or from exhaustion.

Inability to achieve an erection less than 20% of the time is not unusual. Failure to achieve an erection more than 50% of the time usually indicates there is a problem, which needs treatment.

According to the National Institutes of Health, approximately 5 percent of 40-year-old men and between 15 and 25 percent of 65-year-old men experience ED on a long-term basis. Above age 70, there is about a 95% likelihood of having some difficulty with erectile function. Men with diabetes tend to develop erectile dysfunction 10 to 15 years earlier than men without diabetes.

What Causes ED?

Factors both physical and psychological can cause ED. Physical cause include heart disease, high blood pressure, restricted blood flow (arteriosclerosis), obesity, diabetes, low testosterone (LowT), penile scar tissue, certain prescriptions, tobacco, alcohol or substance use and prostate cancer treatments.

Diagnosing ED

After an examination, plus medical and sexual history, blood tests and urinalysis are requested to measure levels and screen for diseases causing or increasing the likelihood of ED.

What if I have diabetes and ED?

We can help. Complications from diabetes can include erectile dysfunction. According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes often goes undiagnosed because many of its symptoms seem so harmless. Early detection and treatment can reduce the chance of developing complications of diabetes. It is important to have your doctor diagnose and treat your diabetes before starting treatment with Modern Wellness Clinic.

Why am I experiencing ED?

High blood sugar, which must be managed carefully if you have diabetes, causes blood vessel and nerve damage. Damage to the blood vessels blocks the release of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is a chemical released into the bloodstream by the lining of blood vessels. It causes the smooth muscles and arteries in the penis to relax and let in blood.

According to the American Diabetes Association, 73% of adults with diabetes have high blood pressure or take blood pressure medication. The combination of high blood pressure and diabetes also increases the risk for blood vessel damage, further reducing blood flow.
High cholesterol is also common in people with diabetes. High cholesterol levels result in fatty deposits in artery walls reducing blood flow.

FAQ: Premature Ejaculation

What is Premature Ejaculation?

According to the International Society for Sexual Medicine premature ejaculation is characterized by:

  • Ejaculation that always or nearly always occurs within one minute or less of penetration
  • The inability to delay ejaculation on all or nearly all penetrations
  • Most therapists and physicians describe premature ejaculation as when a man cannot control how quickly ejaculation happens and this interferes with the ability to have satisfactory sexual experiences.

Hypersensitivity to penile stimulation is the physical reason. But this reaction is produced by a combination of both psychological and biological factors. Most men experience premature ejaculation at least once in their lives. Adolescents and young men most often experience it during their first sexual encounters, but eventually learn ejaculatory control.

What are the factors?

Temporary depression or stress can cause premature ejaculation. A very common reason for premature ejaculation is that a man may have unrealistic expectations about his sexual performance. If he does not believe or is not confident that he can control his ejaculation it makes the problem worse. Premature ejaculation can create communication issues between partners and hinder intimacy. Sometimes premature ejaculation can simply be caused by intense arousal; a man can become so excited that he cannot stop ejaculation.

What treatments are available for PE?

At Modern Wellness Clinic performance medications can be prescribed for a greater sexual experience, after a proper physical examination has been administered. We specialize in getting you back to your optimum performance.

FAQ: Prostate

What is the Prostate?

The prostate is part of a man’s sex organs. It’s about the size of a walnut and surrounds the urethra, located just below the bladder. The urethra has two functions; to carry urine from the bladder and to transmit semen during ejaculation.

As men get older, their prostate continues to grow. As it grows, it compresses the urethra. For men over 50, the most common prostate problem is benign prostatic herplasia (BPH) also known as “an enlarged prostate” or prostatitis. Older men are at risk for prostate cancer as well, but this disease is much less common than BPH.

It is true that some men with prostate cancer also have BPH, but that doesn’t mean that the two conditions are always linked. Most men with BPH don’t develop prostate cancer. However, because the early warning signs are the same for both conditions, you should see a doctor to evaluate these symptoms:

  • A frequent and urgent need to urinate
  • Burning feeling with urination
  • Trouble starting a urine stream
  • A weak stream or leaking or dribbling urine
  • Fever or fatigue

Your doctor may recommend surgery if the prostate is particularly large. The most common surgery is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). In TURP, the surgeon inserts a thin tube up the urethra and removes only enough tissue to relieve urine blockage. You should continue to have your prostate checked once a year even after surgery to make sure that BPH or prostate cancer has not developed.
